Summertime is meant to be spent outdoors. Since it does get hot in places like Arizona, you want to do everything you can to avoid burning your feet. Luckily, there are some tile and pavers options that will stay cool outdoors, even in the summer.

Limestone

Limestone comes in a variety of colors and sizes. It is a strong stone that stays cooler than other sedimentary rocks in the heat. It is best to stick to light colors such as white and cream. Light colors will reflect heat where dark colors are going to absorb more heat.

Granite

Granite is an affordable option to use as tile in your backyard. Not only does granite stay cool, but it is also anti-slip and anti-fade. Another great thing about this volcanic stone is that it is available in all sorts of designs and cuts.

Sandstone

Sandstone is naturally matte so it is a stylish option to add to your backyard. It is soft and comes in an array of colors. However, sandstone is high maintenance. Even though it does stay cool, it will need to be sealed often.

Quartzsite stays cool in the sun and it also has a good grip, making it an ideal option to use around the pool. It is incredibly strong and even has a sparkling texture. Thanks to the crystalline texture, the metamorphic rock happens to be a beautiful addition to any backyard.

Marble

Marble is a luxurious option to use as tile in your backyard. It is easier to use marble as tile than pavers, but either option stays cool! However, the natural stone isn’t always ideal for outdoors since it is prone to staining. It just depends on where you live and where you are thinking of placing the marble tile.
